THE ICONS is benaderd door een Amerikaanse organisatie om deel te nemen aan een benefiet compilatie cd! Deze compilatie heeft als doel om, naast bekendheid te geven aan opkomende artiesten zonder label, geld in te zamelen voor liefdadigheidsinstelling To Write Love On Her Arms!
Samen met zo'n 20 andere benaderde bands van over de hele wereld uit dezelfde alternatieve scene zullen THE ICONS verschijnen op de cd, waarvan uiteindelijk een gelimiteerde oplage te verkrijgen zal zijn!

Ondanks tijdgebrek wegens studie en andere werkzaamheden maken we uiteraard tijd vrij om mee te werken aan dit goede doel!! Wanneer de cd uitkomt is nog niet bekend, maar verdere ontwikkelingen zijn te volgen via de site, dus hou het goed in de gaten!!

Coming Saturday, July 4th, THE ICONS will perform again in the Paard van Troje Café for Paradio Live!! Together with Hoover and N3rs3 they'll fill the evening with their usual sound and also partly an acoustic set for the first time, so don't miss it!!

Tonight, between 23:00 and 00:00, Bianca also will be interviewed by the organizer of Paradio Live, Jeroen Zwaan, and a few live recorded songs will be played on Radio Den Haag FM 92.0 to give you a preview of Saturday's show!

Unfortunately we have to cancel this weekends show at De Trucker!!!

Our handy Gary has got his finger cut open to the bone by a sharp broken toilet! No kidding!! And since he can't play bass without his indexfinger we are forced to cancel the show. And we're sorry for that!

To make it up to you we invite you all to join us at our next show on the 4th of July in the Paard Café which will continue no matter what!

BTW: Cheap Thrills is still playing tomorrow, only we cancelled the show!

We've been on a short break from gigs because of focussing more on the writing and re-writing of old and new material but we're back!!! Well, almost ;)
The 11th of April will be the date of our next show, at De Trucker in Pijnacker! Be there or be square!

Tomorrow evening, Saturday the 13th of December, we'll be playing at The Basement in Voorschoten! Together with Punkture 89 and Happy Holidays, we're gonna rock your evening, which starts at 21:30 till 03:00. Enough time to have some fun!!
This will be our last show for the year, so make sure you'll be there and bring along all your friends!!

We can confirm that on November 15th (SATURDAY instead of Thursday!!) we're going to perform at Café Rootz during Langweiligkeit! We'll be rocking from 18:00 till 18:45, so make sure you'll be there on time!!!

Also Bianca is invited to take part in HPC's one time during event called Playgirls! This event will take place on the 1st of November at HPC, where Bianca and three other chicks will rock your socks off as an all-girlband.

Eerste namen Langweiligkeit 9
De eerste namen van optredende acts op het festival Langweiligkeit 9 in Den Haag zijn bekend. Op de website van het festival staan de namen van 25 acts, waaronder bekende Haagse groepen als The Deaf, So What en THE ICONS.
Langweiligkeit wordt 13, 14 en 15 november gehouden op twintig lokaties in het centrum van Den Haag. In totaal treden 250 bands, DJ's, VJ's en dichters op.

It's been awhile since we posted some news because we've all been on holidays and have been busy with our other pursuits, but... we cán tell you that we've also been busy writing new material and that we will play some of it at our next gig in Musicon, the 11th of October!!! Programma Trucker koninginnedagfestival rond
Op woensdag 30 april zijn er op het buitenpodium bij OJC De trucker weer vele leuke bandjes te zien. De bands die vanaf 14.00 uur zullen aantreden zijn: Daanie akoestich, de beginnende rockband Koning Snor & de Schuifkroketten, The Gifted Class (nederlandstalige humorrock), THE ICONS, de levende surflegenden The Raving Bonkers, Pijnackers trots Tripper en de coverband 12 inch.

Muziekkenners zeggen vaak: trio's zijn de beste bands. Kijk naar bands als Nirvana en The Jam. Het Haagse trio THE ICONS speelt energieke, stevige, alternatieve rock met punkinvloeden (ook wel indierock genoemd). De laatste jaren heeft deze voormalige meidenband nogal wat wisselingen ondergaan, maar nadat gitariste/zangeres Bianca in zee ging met drummer Tim en bassist Gary, valt alles op zijn plaats en lijken de grote successen eraan te komen, want THE ICONS is inmiddels uitgegroeid tot een veelgevraagde act.

Such a busy week! The 12th we kicked some ass in Amsterdam at The Winston Kingdom, and last Wednesday we played some new songs live at Radio West's Stork On Air. Very soon we're going to place a new music player in the MUSIC section so you can check out the new songs!!

We've played some great shows in the last few months all the way in Eindhoven, Voorschoten, Gouda and ofcourse in Den Haag, and for the ones who weren't able to make it- we've uploaded some great live photos of our Gouda gig, made by our close friend Danissa. Click here!

New songs are in progress and we're very close to finishing them!! One song is already finished, and is called Face Down. If you are curious, you can listen to Radio West's Stork On Air (89.3 FM), where we will be attending live on the 9th of April.

Rosie), Alex Dirkse (producer van o.a. Di-rect) en Bianca Vrind (van THE ICONS,
de winnaar van TALENT EVENT 2005). Aan hen de zware taak om op 22 juni
in het gebouw van Dalton Den Haag de winnaar te kiezen uit de zes finalisten
Joker & the Majesties, Nitro Squad, Dead Stereo, Tim Urbanus, Crap Suzette en F.
Aansluitend wordt in het schoolgebouw een voor iedereen toegankelijke gratis

Wegens het maandenlang achterhouden van geld, demo's en informatie, bandmail hacken en wachtwoorden veranderen, een heimelijke poging de bandnaam te claimen en Bianca's muziekcomposities vast te leggen (gitaar en bas, gedeeltelijke drums en teksten), zijn Anouk Walther en Emmeline Haagedoorn de band uitgezet en vervangen door een nieuwe bassiste en drumster!
Het optreden op Schollenpop was voorlopig ons laatste optreden.


Because of witholding money, demo's and information for months, bandmail hacking and changing passwords, attempting to claim the bandname and committing plagiarism of Bianca's music compositions (guitar compositions, bass compositions, partial lyrics and partial drum compositions), Anouk Walther and Emmeline Haagedoorn are replaced by a new bassplayer and drummer.
For now, the Schollenpop show was the last show.

THE ICONS recorded two new tracks at the Basement Studio titled 'Lovers are Liars' & 'Goodbye'. Enjoy!
